Costs and Financial Support

Financial Support

A limited number of the most competitive students who apply each year for the full-time program option may be considered for financial support by the Applied Clinical Research PhD program. If selected, financial support may include tuition, fees, health insurance, and an annual stipend up to $37,000 depending upon availability of funds for the first year of study in the program. In subsequent years, tuition, fees, and a stipend may be paid from research grants awarded to the student’s dissertation mentor or from a source identified by the School of Health Professions Office of the Dean. A limited number of scholarships may be available to full-time students who are Texas residents.

Full-time students who are not selected for financial support prior to matriculation are responsible for payment of all tuition and fees.

Students choosing flexible enrollment are responsible for payment of all tuition and fees.

Health Insurance

All students are required to carry health insurance in addition to other academic costs. For students who are receiving financial support in the Ph.D. program, health insurance may be paid by the School of Health Professions during the first year of the program. In subsequent years, students’ insurance may be covered through dissertation mentors or from a source identified by the School of Health Professions Office of the Dean.

Students are required to provide proof of coverage if covered by a parent or spouse's policy. The University of Texas System offers affordable Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance and family health insurance coverage is available if students wish to purchase at their expense during any benefits enrollment period.
